The North Hills Soccer Club relies on volunteers for its recreational soccer programs. Our Club is committed to help provide our coaches with all of the tools needed to provide an enjoyable and rewarding experience to all of our youth players.
YOUTH SOCCER SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
The development of skills in youth soccer is an essential building block to the happiness and success of a youth soccer player. A youth soccer player must be able to handle a soccer ball with their feet to be able to enjoy the game of soccer. If a player has developed their foot skills, they will play with confidence, and if they can play with confidence, they are more likely to have fun playing soccer.
North Hills Soccer Club's Director of Coaching, Michael Kummer, has developed the following three videos to help coaches, parents and players visualize the skills necessary to play soccer.
For beginner soccer players, they should focus on the the Fabulous Five.
For intermediate soccer players, once they have learned the Fabulous Five, they should focus on the Terrific Ten.
For advanced soccer players, after mastering the Terrific Ten, they should focus on the Fantastic Fifteen.
FUTURE COACHES
Experience is not essential to becoming a coach. If you are interested in becoming a coach for the North Hills Soccer Club contact our Director of Coaching.
All volunteers that coach in either the In House, Community or Travel Divisions need to complete a background check.
Additional information on coaching and upcoming coaching courses can be found at PaWest.
CURRENT COACHES
The North Hills Soccer Club firmly believes that when coaches have more training, the children are given better opportunities to improve and develop their skills. We offer training to our coaches each season and encourage our coaches to take the coaching licensing courses offered through PaWest.
With the internet, there are many places to find information and help for our coaches to developtheir practices. Our Director of coaching is currently developing a written guide for our club that includes sample practice sessions and a video guide for our prospective and existing coaches. As soon as this project is completed, we will make this available to the coaches within our club.
